Shri Ekling Nathji

Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar is the 76th Diwan of Parmeshwarji Maharaj Shri Ekling Nathji. As the Custodian of the House of Mewar, he is a transient regent representing the people before God and is not a Ruler by personal right. This fount of piety and humility originated with Bappa Rawal in the 8th century AD.

Kalbhoj Bappa

Bappa (his real name is Kalbhoj Bappa) was the true founder of Mewar dynasty's supremacy. He moved the capital of Mewar to the mighty fortress city of Chittorgarh. His religious rigour and nobility earned him the blessings of the holy sage, Harit Rashi.

Incarnation of Lord Shiva

Bappa recognized Shri Ekling Nathji, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, as the Supreme Lord of Mewar. He received the State of Mewar in trust from his guru, Maharishi Harit Rashi. He thus set the tradition of pious humility, the hallmark of the Guhilot Kings of Mewar.

The Cardinal Principles

Bappa followed the cardinal principles that Maharishi Harit Rashi laid down for him as the Diwan of Shri Ekling Nathji: respect for mankind, service to the community and maintenance of ancient Vedic culture. These precepts have endured as the living heritage of the House of Mewar whose present Custodian is Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar. The concept of trusteeship began in the 8th century AD is still being upheld in the 21st century.
